WEBSITE SYSTEMS FOR AUSTRALIAN TRADES

Website design for tradies

Web design for tradies is the work of giving every service you sell its own page, so each can be found on its own search, answer its own customer, and be quoted on without a phone call.

It differs from general small business web design in what it carries: several trades under one roof, service areas, licence and insurance details, and a path from search result to quote that works on a phone held in one hand.

TRADES WE UNDERSTAND

Web design for plumbers, electricians and specialist trades

01

Solar And Battery Installers

Six service lines, product brands needing their own pages, and a market that moved from panels to batteries faster than most websites did.

02

Mechanics and automotive workshops

Logbook servicing, repairs, roadworthy inspections and tyres are four searches, and most workshop sites treat them as one. Balkan Automotive in the Blue Mountains was rebuilt in two weeks.

03

Electricians and electrical contractors

Domestic and commercial work speak to different buyers, while accreditation and licence details are checked before anyone calls. The site needs a clear route for both audiences.

04

Refrigeration and HVAC

Commercial breakdowns and domestic installs run on different urgency, and the site has to serve both.

We have also built for a trade training school teaching solar and battery installation. If your trade is not listed, the structure still applies: a plumber with emergency, maintenance and bathroom work has the same problem as a solar installer with six service lines. We work with Aussie tradies nationally.

Why websites for tradies fail, and it is rarely the design

A trade business usually sells between four and eight distinct things. The website usually presents them as one.

That single decision causes most of the damage. When six services share a page, a search engine cannot tell which page answers which search, so none rank well. A customer looking for one specific job cannot tell within seconds whether you do it, so they click the next result. And you compete against yourself.

None of this is fixed by a better-looking site. A beautiful single page has the same problem as an ugly one.

The fix is structural. Every service you want work from gets a page that stands on its own: what the job involves, roughly what it costs, how long it takes, what happens next. That page can rank, be linked to, be sent to a customer directly, and be measured.

It fixes a quieter problem too. A service page has room for the calls to action a shared page cannot fit: a quote button matching that job, and an answer to the question people ask before booking it. Conversion on a trade website is not persuasion, it is turning visits into booked jobs by not making people hunt. Clear pages also build trust faster than copy about how long you have been going.

Success stories: what one rebuild changed

One of our success stories, in full rather than a logo on a wall.

Sydney Air & Solar arrived with six service lines, five product brands, and a website presenting all of it as one undifferentiated block. The problem described above, at full scale, in a business trading since 2000.

The work was structural rather than cosmetic. Six services became six pages, and redirects were planned before launch so nothing the domain had earned was thrown away.

Those positions came from the rebuild, the new content and ongoing search work together, not one change. And the business already had the accreditations and the reputation. The rebuild did not manufacture credibility, it stopped the site hiding it.

CLEAR SCOPE, PUBLISHED PRICES

What we charge

Three ways to buy, depending on whether you want the site working after launch or just live. All prices inc GST.

01

Website build

$2,000

The site done properly, and then it is yours.

  • A page for every service you sell
  • Clean structure, titles, sitemap and Search Console
  • Fast on desktop and mobile, easy to update
  • Domain, hosting and files in your name
02

Website build + SEO launch

$3,300

For tradies who want the site earning from week one, not eventually.

  • Everything in the website build
  • Keyword targeting decided page by page
  • Service and suburb pages written for real searches
  • One optimisation pass after launch
03

Website build + ongoing SEO

$3,300 + $790/month

For a trade business treating search as a channel, not a one-off.

  • Everything above, then monthly SEO work
  • New service pages as you take on new work
  • Reporting on rankings and enquiries
  • Stop any time and keep every page

Where a quote lands depends mostly on how many services deserve their own page, since that drives both the build and the writing. Online booking, CRM integration or several trading locations are quoted separately.

AUSTRALIAN MARKET SNAPSHOT

Tradie website cost in Australia

Worth seeing the whole market before judging any single quote, because the spread is wider than most tradies expect.

None of those tiers is wrong. A sole operator buying a $200 template is making a sensible decision. The mismatch happens when a business with six service lines buys a product designed for one.

SCOPE BEFORE SCREENS

How we scope your website needs before we build

Before anyone opens a design tool, three questions get settled. They decide most of what the project costs.

4–8 weeks

Design and development then run together on WordPress, left easy to update by your own team. Why that platform, and exactly what you own at the end, is set out on WordPress websites for tradies.

01

Which services deserve their own page

Not all do. This is where we find two or three services hiding inside a paragraph, quietly earning nothing.

02

How far the service area goes

We decide whether suburb pages are useful at all, and which can be filled with something real rather than swapped place names.

03

Whether the existing site needs replacing

Some sites need restructuring, some need a redesign, and some need neither. We would rather quote the smaller job than sell a rebuild you did not need.

If your site is structurally sound and simply looks dated, that is a website redesign rather than a rebuild, and it costs less.

A PRACTICAL BUYER’S CHECKLIST

Why a tradie business chooses this web design agency

Experience, quality and passion appear on every site competing for this search, and none can be checked. These four can, and the same test works on whoever else you are considering.

01

You can see who does the work

Named people with named roles on our about page, not a stock photo captioned “our team”.
02

We publish numbers

The rankings above carry a source and a date. Client logos are common; measurable results are not.

03

We publish prices

The full range is below, so you can judge fit before handing over your email address.

04

We will tell you not to hire us

If a redesign or simpler build does the job, that is what we quote.

TRADE CLIENTS, NAMED

Testimonials people can verify

A testimonial with a name and a business reads as real. A wall of anonymous stars does not, so ours carry both.

Many thanks to this amazing professional for helping me restore my website! Everything was done quickly, efficiently, and at a high level. Truly a reliable and trustworthy person!

Ollie Brio

Trade client

I recently had Vasili create a website for my automotive shop. His professionalism and communication throughout the process were top-notch. He made everything smooth and easy, and the final result looks fantastic. All recommendations!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions before the quote

One for every service you genuinely want work from, plus home, about and contact. Most tradie sites land between six and twelve. Fewer than that and your tradie services start sharing pages, which is the problem this approach exists to solve.

Usually not. A suburb page earns its place only when you have something real to say: a job done there, different call-out terms or a council requirement.

No, and the gap is easy to test yourself. Search your main service plus a suburb you actually work in, and see whether a map appears at all. For most trade searches beyond your immediate area it will not, and those are the results your website has to win.

Then this is more site than you need, and a simpler build or even a template may serve you better. Tell us what you sell and we will say which end of the market fits, including when that answer is not us.

A better structured site improves the measurable path from search to enquiry. It is not a guarantee of leads, and anyone promising a number before seeing your market is guessing.

Four to eight weeks, depending on how many services need their own page. The variable is usually content readiness, so having photos, service details and licence numbers ready moves the project faster.

NOT SURE WHICH APPLIES?

Start with what you sell

Send us the services you want more work from and how paying customers find you now. We will come back with which deserve their own page and what that would cost.

If the honest answer is that your site needs tidying rather than replacing, you will get that too.
